Whilst our values are traditional – based on a culture of service, integrity and commitment to deliver results, our approach is modern, with bold, dynamic thinking - future proofed wherever possible. Our professional marketing expertise adds a real-life, commercial perspective to ensure our property advice is delivering to the opportunities your markets present too.
The world in which you manage and make decisions about your land & property is ever changing, as regulations, government policies and markets evolve. Our advice is based on continual research into all aspects of property development and business management; but since we are actively operating across private, public and government sectors on-going, we see the property landscape from 360 degrees of perspective.

The Landscope Team

Founded in 2001 by Sam Franklin, Landscope has grown by helping an increasing number of clients to manage and develop their land and property. Sam Franklin BSc (Hons) MSc MRICS FAAV FBIAC PIEMA MISoilSci

Having grown up on a mixed livestock and arable farm in the heart of Bedfordshire, Sam has retained strong roots in agriculture and the farming community. Sam graduated with BSc (Hons) in Agriculture from Newcastle University in 1987, completed his studies to qualify as a Chartered Surveyor with RICS and as a Fellow of the Association of Agricultural Valuers and went on to take an MSc at Cranfield University. Sam is also an Agricultural Consultant (FBIAC), Environmental Consultant (PIEMA) and a Professional Soil Scientist (MISoilSci).

Sam started Landscope in 2001, based in Bedfordshire, operating across the Eastern Region and Central England, building upon his previous experience working in Private Practice, the RSPB, Local Authority and abroad in the Former Soviet Union on land and farm restructuring. The practice has grown based on its strong track record of success in rural practice surveying and planning consultancy, resulting in personal referrals and repeat business.

Sam is a supporter of Bedfordshire Young Farmers, having enjoyed being a Young Farmer himself and taking part, in particular in Public Debating competitions and international work, as well as the extensive social aspects of YFC. Having owned and ridden horses since childhood, he is experienced in all things equestrian and is proud to support the Oakley Hunt, the British Horse Society in Bedfordshire, World Horse Welfare and, through his children British Eventing and Keysoe Riding Club. One thing about Millie is she always has a smile on her face, if you ever see her out at events make sure to say hi! She can also often be found out riding her horse on her lunch break and comes to work with her whippet Gin.

Jack Franklin

Jack has joined the team as Surveying Technician. He enjoys all things outdoors and is never happier than surveying land, vegetation and soils. With an early interest in Geography, the environment and business, he is developing his career with Landscope in our growing Land Classification and Soils practice. Jack has trained in Soils Evaluation with the British Society of Soil Science and continues to develop his knowledge in this area as well as other key land surveying skills at Landscope.

When not at work, Jack loves travel, music and his young Border Collie, Artemis (AKA ‘Arty’). Arty is also welcomed by Tiggy and Myrtle as a member of the ‘Landscope Pack’ in the office at Thorncote Green.

Myrtle & Tiggy

Myrtle joined the Landscope team in 2019 and takes her job as the office security manager very seriously, although generally prefers to be on-site rather than office based.

Tiggy joined as trainee paper shredder, but aspires to join Mrytle in Security very soon. She looks forward to accompanying Myrtle and Sam on site visits, when (if) she graduates in obedience.
